Ubuntuwire.com - Ultimate Ubuntu Search Engine

October 5th, 2007

Here is a little meme about a pet project I've been working on http://www.ubuntuwire.com , its a Custom Search engine powered by Google that searches Ubuntu Related sites so you dont have to sift through unrelated results.

Give it a Go and tell me what you think , you can either leave a comment or email me brandon@imbrandon.com , also If you would like to help me maintain the search engine be sure to drop me a note.

Here is the Ubuntu Forums thread discussing the search engine and firefox search addins too http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=568271

    It seems pretty much like the http://www.uboontu.com - The Ubuntu Search Engine (in fact, it seems to be exactly the same, the only difference is the domain name).
    If it goes on, we will need a search engine to find ubuntu search engines. If this project had come 3 months ago, would be great, otherwise it is only work being redone without any plus.

    The engine/website seems to be missing essential features and is lacking in appearance and functionality.

    I hope you take this comment as constructively.

    @Mattew

    Actually ubuntuwire.com was started quite a bit before uboontu.com but was inactive for a while since it was run by Brandon, and as he said in his previous post, he’s been busy with real life.

    It could have a bit more of an Ubuntu look and feel.
